Welcome ! My name is Ken Leane. I have been a Motor Trimmer for 45 years. I started my apprenticeship way back in 1975 with Barry Hopkins Trimming at Artarmon on Sydney's north shore. Later, at the same premises I started Lalken Prestige Car Upholstery, until in late 2019, moving to a quieter & more suitable location. We became SWS to more accurately represent the beautiful South West Slopes of NSW. Our workshop is newly built and is secured for your vehicle's safety, and plenty of room for other work too. Hi ! I am Laurel Leane . I first joined the Motor Trimming industry way back at Barry Hopkins Trimming at Artarmon in Sydney, and worked with both Barry and Ken for quite some time. Then, Ken & I successfully worked together as Lalken Prestige Car Upholstery , right up until we left for a more peaceful lifestyle and became SWS. Although I physically started in the industry with Ken at Artarmon, I had already learnt alot as a child. My grandfather & his brother were the well renown W.S Grice of Summer Hill in Sydney way back when parlour coaches & ambulances etc were all built, inside & out from scratch with wooden bodies. My own father worked there too for many years. So, I grew up listening & learning as they spoke, so it seems logical that without planning, I began my own journey in the Coach working ( now known as Motor Trimming industry. ) I have a sound knowledge of the trade and easily able to discuss & implement ideas with Ken as a team effort.
